Womens groups? Moms groups?
OK, so i am just not "that" kind of girl. Never have been. Didn't join a sorority, never had a huge group of girlfriends and i have declined every mom's group or women's something or another that i've ever been invited too.
Except this morning.
The women of my church have this open invitation to coffee at this cute little coffee shop right by my house, every Friday morning they meet and supposedly there is a place for the kids to play.... they meet 9am - 11am.
This morning my kids were up extra early and already starting to whine... i was cold and a hot non fat decaf vanilla latte sounded really good.... so we all got bundled up and headed out the door at 9 sharp. Mind you, i am only 1 mile away. I was the 1st one there, nice. Then my mom showed up and only 2 other ladies. But that is OK, it was still fun and I am glad i did it. We left by 10:20 and came home so Mia could take her nap. My vanilla latte was everything i'd hoped it would be and the playroom was really nice. They had big cushy couches and chairs and a big fireplace too. Perfect!
So now we are home. The baby girl is napping, the big brother is watching sesame street, and i am washing the linens from my bed and the cushion covers from my white couch. Yep, i have a white couch even though i have 2 black dogs (they don't shed at least), a messy husband and my 2.5 kids. :) The good thing about white is that it doesn't fade.... so i just spray and wash those suckers when i need too. However, the arms of the couch are starting to look a little ratty (we've had the couch 4 years). but i love it nonetheless... it's big and cushy and comfortable with big curvy arms and is the precise style i've always wanted.
That is it from me today. Pretty boring. But my sweetie get's off shortly after lunch and is off until after Christmas, yahoo!!
Let the fun begin!!

Mmmmm Cookies!! part 2
Mmmm... cookies!
The beginnings of my blog:

Our dog of 7 years ran away on Dec. 2nd... thankfully to be found 6 days later. She's been home a week now and we are so glad. Her snooty attitude and days of lounging about by herself seem to be over. She is sweetly cuddling by Mama (me) most of the time or goes where ever the kids are... like today, they are playing outside (I think it is COLD!) but they are outside in the sandbox and slide playing together all giggly and happy. There she is - Britty - our sweet basenji just basking in the winter sunlight right next to the kids. I loved it. She is realizing what she was missing and getting in on all of the fun of Jackson and Mia... the 2 cutest kids on earth! So.. all this to say that it is wonderful having Britty back and watching her enjoy the house and the family that is all hers!
My husband has been busy building a pond in the backyard. Make that 2 ponds with a waterfall. Yup, he's an over achiever and incredible. He made a small pond that has a waterfall flowing into a pretty big pond. Needless to say, the kids (and I) love it. They sit right on the edge just swinging their feet and watching the water flow. This morning in 50 degree weather they are out there in shorts with their feet in the water and enormous smiles on their faces, just talking to each other. It is so cute. I took a picture (of course). And yes, there was britty just a few inches away laying next to them. They move, she moves. I love it!
My little Miss Miabel has been getting herself into a handful of trouble today! She has figured out (much to her Mama's despair!) how to push a chair or a stool over to the kitchen counter (or any high space) and climb up top. I found her sitting on the kitchen counter with a bag of homemade sugar cookies and some candy. Nice. She is only 17.5 months old, this worries me! Her brother is about 10 feet away sitting happily at the kitchen table. Why so happy? He'd helped himself to the tin of sugar cookies he'd made with his Grammy the other night... Ah!! I asked him "how many cookies have you had jackson?" and he says with a mouthful, "Um, three."
And now he is wondering why I have put the tin of cookies away. I am so unreasonable sometimes! haha! Mind you, it wasn't even lunch time!
Anyway, now they are both napping and so are the 2 dogs (Britty and Gracie by the way). So it is quiet in the house - except for the sound of typing, an occasional email or IM, and of course, Christmas music! I love Christmas. I love being a stay at home mama. I love my husband. I love my kids. I love my dogs. I love my house.
that's it from me.
Over and out,
Julie
p.s. this is the pond not finished and no landscaping yet...
